Ocean Coho are almost here!
Mid-August is when the Silver (Coho) salmon make their way back to the emerald waters of Puget Sound. The 2026 Silver salmon run is projected at 15% above the ten-year average, according to the Washing Department of Fish and Wildlife. The past week we have caught several Ocean run fish and with each incoming tide there will be more and more. Plenty of the smaller resident silver salmon are being caught each day! We mooch or spin cast for these fish into mid-September when we usually switch to trolling. Mid-August through early September these fish are feeders and the action is fantastic. This year the limit is two coho per angler. Get your family out on the water before football and back to school activities take over!
