Chinook Salmon are entering the Seattle area waters of Puget Sound
With the weather finally acting like summer Chinook fishing is ramping up! This customer traveled all the way from Japan to attend PWC Women’s PGA event but said he enjoyed this experience more than the golf! These King Salmon really put up a fight! We drift fish with cut plug herring and it’s exciting to feel the grab!

It's been a busy spring!
Well. I must apologize for the lack of reports! We’ve been very busy commissioning and new boat and getting her ready for the Puget Sound.
The new boat is a Grady White Fisherman 236 powered by a Yamaha F300. Its an incredible machine and rides like a much large boat. She’s equipped with the latest Simrad electronics, including a 48-mile radar for safety and a very high-end transducer for seeing what under the surface of Puget Sound!
We are all set now and we’ve fished hard the entire month of June. The resident coho catching has been consistent and not quite as hot as last season. We are starting to see more and more Chinook salmon entering Puget Sound! It looks to be a great summer season!

Spring 2024 has been stormy and wet!
Our May Ling Cod season was excellent even if the weather was particularly cold and wet this year! It looks like we’ve moved back to a normal weather pattern after this last storm! Looks to be a great season.
Great Ocean Coho fishing on the Puget Sound
The coho are here in big numbers! We have been mooching and trolling up limits most days! Pinks are thinning out, so Coho is the target fish!
September is the most consistent fishing on the Salish Sea! We expect the coho fishing to be good well into October. For 2023 the state has opened Chum fishing in area ten! While tough to catch the chum are the hardest fighters of the Puget Sound Salmon. Late October is typically when the chum are in town!
August and the next 8 weeks!
Salmon fishing in the Puget Sound is as good as it gets right now! I expect the hot fishing will go on for some time. We are getting chinook (releasing), Pink, Resident Coho and are starting to see the ocean coho.
The next 8 weeks should be exciting if the strong ocean coho return predictions are correct! The Pinl Salmon run is coming in way over the predictions!
Pink Salmon is on fire
The Chinook fishery is closed in most of Puget Sound. All chinook caught will be released until 2024. It was a great year for the King of Salmon.
Pink Salmon are very abundant this year with a forecast of 3.9m returning to the puget sound. This fish put up a great fight and we focus on using light tackle. Its a blast feeling the hook up on these fish!
We are still getting resident coho and are starting to see Ocean run coho returning. Ocean coho can be in thick as early as the third week of August but are always in around labor day. This should be a strong coho season lasting well into October.
Chinook going strong and we are seeing some Pink Salmon in the Seattle Area
Chinook fishing in Puget Sound has been very solid! We are starting to see Pink salmon each day. They will be thick in the coming weeks and the coho are just around the corner!

The coho keep biting and the Chinook fishing is getting better each day! Pinks are just around the corner and the ocean cohos too!
Great Summer Fishing on Puget Sound near Seattle!
Great memories are being made this year on the Puget Sound! Resident Coho are still biting and we have had plenty of hatchery Chinook fishing! I love the smiles when a King Salmon is in the net! The second half of August looks to be a great time with the pinks, while chinook is scheduled to be open through August. Coho will follow them up in September!

Very excited to change gears and focus on the 2023 Puget Sound Chinook Fishery! Crab is open Sunday and Monday only this year so we set pots Sunday.
2023 Resident Coho Fishery is still going strong
The resident coho fishery on Puget Sound started off hit and miss and the past week or so has been the hottest fishing I can recall. While the coho are small they provide great times and good eating.
We are looking forward to the much larger hatchery chinook season just around the corner!
Summer has arrived
Its been a great start to the summer season. The weather has been perfect and the mountain is out most days!
Resident coho fishing has been great one day slow the next but we are starting to see chinook salmon, more and more each day. The chinook go back until the retention of hatchery chinook salmon opens mid-July.
Our flounder trips have been super fun this year. Its a great time getting kids onto fish. We do these trips as catch and release for the most part. We also can split our salmon trip and do flounder at the customers request.
Resident Coho off to a good start
The weather has bounced around this month and so has the fishing. As the summer moves forward I expect the weather to play a lesser role!
We have managed to get some of these great eating fish in the box and have also started catching Pink salmon which is very early in the season for them to show. Should be a crazy year with so many pinks expected to return.

We had a great day on the water for the 2023 Spot Prawn season! 80 degree weather and no wind made for perfect conditions!
Looking forward to Chinook, Coho and Pink Salmon! Resident Coho Salmon opens June 1st! These fish are also known as King Salmon, Silver Salmon and Humpy Salmon just to make it interesting!
Lingcod Fishing in May
We had some crazy warm days this May. Several days above 85 which is a nice treat coming off a rainy winter and spring. The lingcod didn’t seem to mind and we had some decent action. This one was over the 36 inch limit and was released!
Salmon season opens June 1st and we are anticpating a good Chinook return in July and August followed by a record forecast for pinks! Should be a great summer!
Winter fishery a bust!
Well, the winter season opened up strong. Too strong and the state was forced to close the fishery early. We spent that beach time cleaning and doing the maintenance so that we are ready for the spring fishery!
Great news was released last week regarding the salmon season openings in Puget Sound. Area 10 opens two weeks earlier this year and the rest of the openings are on par with prior years.
Ocean coho season has been fantastic!
The ocean coho are here and the bite has been strong most days! Some bigger fish around and we look forward to good fishing into October!
Hatchery Chinook finishes strong! Ocean Coho are on there way
The month of August was pretty dang good for hatchery chinook salmon. The fish were late this year and are still being caught this week. The season ends on the 31st and we are excited to shift gears and chase the acrobatic ocean coho.

The fishing has been really strong most days. It seems like the last wave of fish is larger. The weather has been beautiful and the colors in the morning have been off the charts. The mountains have been stunning.

The recent heat wave has really kicked off the hatchery chinook salmon fishery. We’ve been getting our shot each trip and capitalizing on many hookups. The fishery should be strong during August!
